Washington, D.C. – Today, House Armed Services Committee Ranking Member Adam Smith (D-WA) made the following statement about the acquisition reform discussion draft introduced today by House Armed Services Committee Chairman William “Mac” Thornberry (R-TX):
"The need for continued improvements in acquisition is clear, and I appreciate the Chairman’s efforts on acquisition reform. The details here are important though. This is a discussion draft, and while I support some of the proposals it puts forward, I have concerns about others. I look forward to continuing to work with him on these important issues."
