Purpose: The subcommittee plans to receive testimony on the status of: 1) Technical Refresh-3 hardware and Block 4 software development, testing, production, and fielding; 2) Propulsion and Power/Thermal Management Systems concept development, risk reduction, and acquisition strategy; 3) Viability, availability, sustainability, and recapitalization of the existing Developmental Testing and Operational Testing aircraft fleets; and, 4) Utilization of digital engineering, digital twin modeling and simulation, and initial spare parts procurement strategies to reduce the current operations and sustainment costs, and increase aircraft availability and full mission capability rates for all aircraft customers across the global F-35 enterprise.
