WASHINGTON, D.C. – Representatives Adam Smith (D-Wash.) and Mike Rogers (R-Ala.), Chairman and Ranking Member of the House Armed Services Committee, today announced the official activation of the Defense Critical Supply Chain Task Force.
The bipartisan Task Force is chartered to review the industrial base supply chain to identify and analyze threats and vulnerabilities.
The Task Force is co-chaired by Rep. Elissa Slotkin (D-Mich.) and Rep. Mike Gallagher (R-Wis.).
The following members will join the co-chairs on the Task Force:
Rep. Donald Norcross (D-N.J.)
Rep. Chrissy Houlahan (D-Pa.)
Rep. Mikie Sherrill (D-N.J.)
Rep. Don Bacon (R-Neb.)
Rep. Michael Waltz (R-Fla.)
Rep. Stephanie Bice (R-Okla.)
Committee leadership can initiate a task force to execute oversight of issues that cross multiple subcommittee jurisdictions or are deemed worthy of special attention by its Members. Representatives Smith and Rogers initiated the Defense Critical Supply Chain Task Force to examine the existing industrial base supply chain.
From initial activation, the duration of the Task Force is three months with the option of renewal for an additional three months.
To learn more about the Defense Critical Supply Chain Task Force, its focus and how the Task Force will execute its roles and responsibilities, the Task Force co-chairs will host a virtual roundtable discussion for members of the media on Wednesday, March 10. Details for this virtual roundtable will be shared separately.
