Washington, D.C. – U.S. Representatives Adam Smith (D-WA) and Mike Rogers (R-AL), Ranking Member and Chairman of the U.S. House Armed Services Committee, released a statement following news that General Eric M. Smith, Commandant of the U.S. Marine Corps, has been hospitalized.

“We are saddened to learn that General Eric Smith has been hospitalized following a medical emergency. Our thoughts are with General Smith, his family and friends, and the men and women of the United States Marine Corps. General Smith is a remarkable man, and we are praying for his full recovery.”
