Washington, D.C. – Today, House Armed Services Ranking Member Adam Smith (D-WA) made the following statement on House passage of the FY 19 NDAA:

“We all have to remember the baseline reason we are doing this. As the authorizing bill for the Department of Defense, this is the bill that sets the policy that helps the men and women who fight and serve to protect our country. It is an incredibly important task. I want to particularly thank the Chairman. We had a great working relationship this year, as always. The bill contains so many provisions that no one could agree with every single thing in the bill, but I think we have an excellent product. I look forward to going to conference with the Senate.”
