Thank you, Mr. Chairman for convening this hearing, and thank you to our witnesses for appearing before us today.

I would also like to welcome Dr. Douglas Matty and Ms. Katie Arrington. Thank you for appearing before the subcommittee this morning.

In the interest of time and upcoming votes, I will keep my remarks brief. Our IT infrastructure forms the foundation of countless systems that our warfighters depend on. I look forward to hearing more about our efforts on establishing a zero-trust ecosystem, the current status and future of the DoD’s use of cloud computing, and Authority to Operate reform.

On the topic of artificial intelligence, I look forward to hearing how CDAO will be helping to guide the department in their efforts to ethically and responsibly integrate AI into its numerous systems. While there can be great benefit in its integration into such activities as predictive maintenance and business systems, we must make sure that any and all uses have the proper vetting and oversight.  

And with that, I want to again thank our witnesses for appearing before us today. Thank you, Mr. Chairman.
