Washington, DC – House Armed Services Committee Chairman Ike Skelton (D-MO) released the following statement after the Senate approved the conference report to H.R. 2647, the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2010.
“I congratulate the Chairman and Ranking Member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, Senator Carl Levin and Senator John McCain, on the Senate’s passage of the conference report to the Fiscal Year 2010 National Defense Authorization Act.
“Now that both the House and Senate have approved the conference report, we are closer to sending this important defense authorization bill to the President for his signature. This bill is critical to our service members, our military families, and to our national security, so I hope the President will sign the defense bill into law as soon as possible.”
