Washington D.C.House Armed Services Committee Ranking Member Adam Smith (D-WA) released the following statement about the NSC’s reported reorganization:

“Mr. Bannon’s reported removal from his official position on the National Security Council is entirely appropriate. His views on national security are dangerous, and he should not have been invited to join in the first place. We can only hope that this reorganization indicates he will have less influence over national security policymaking; and the addition of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and Director of National Intelligence as regular attendees of the Principals Committee, who should rightly have been included in the first place, add necessary input.”‎
