Washington, D.C. – U.S. Representatives Don Bacon (R-NE) and Chrissy Houlahan (D-PA), Chairman and Ranking Member of the House Armed Services Committee’s Quality of Life Panel, held a roundtable with Military Service Organizations to discuss Quality of Life issues. Blue Star Families, the Military Family Advisory Network, the Military Officers Association of America, and the National Military Families Association participated in the roundtable.

“Today’s roundtable was an eye-opening discussion with representatives from Military Service Organizations,” Rep. Don Bacon (R-NE) said. “We must act quickly to solve the quality of life problems facing our servicemembers and their families. Not only are these issues critical to the lives of our men and women in uniform, but they are also imperative to ensure our country’s military readiness by enabling the Armed Forces to meet its recruitment and retention goals.”

“As veterans, Rep. Bacon and I both understand the critical role a family plays in supporting our service members and thus our national security,” Rep. Chrissy Houlahan (D-PA) said. “Today’s productive conversation with organizations representing our military families covered childcare, spouse support and employment programs, housing, healthcare and more. I’m incredibly grateful for the feedback we received today so our Quality of Life Panel can continue working towards solutions to these pressing issues for our service members and their dedicated family members.”
